چکیده

System developers can often perceive managing QoS-requirements as complex, time consuming and abstract. As a result of not paying sufficient attention to QoS in the design phase, problems are discovered late in the development cycle, often not before the real system is set into operation. Thus, correcting QoS deficiencies often become very expensive and difficult to handle. One of the main reasons why QoS is difficult to treat in models is that there is a lack of precise relations between different models and between models and implementations with respect to QoS. Thereby, we believe the capturing and handling of QoS-requirements has to be an essential part of the MDA approach in order to gain successful system development of real time and embedded systems. Thus, the MDA approach needs to be QoSaware. Consequently, the QoS-specifications need to be part of the PIM and PSM models, the accomplishment of model transformation code generation, configuration and deployment should be QoS-aware and ideally also the target execution platform should be QoS-aware. This paper describes some significant aspects of a QoS-aware MDA approach for system development and execution.

A New Fairness Index and Novel Approach for QoS-Aware Resource Allocation in LTE Networks Based on Utility Functions

Resource allocation techniques have recently appeared as a widely recognized feature in LTE networks. Most of existing approaches in resource allocation focus on maximizing network’s utility functions. The great potential of utility function in improving resource allocation and enhancing fairness and mean opinion score (MOS) indexes has attracted large efforts over the last few years. In this p...

Automatic QoS-aware Web Services Composition based on Set-Cover Problem

By definition, web-services composition works on developing merely optimum coordination among a number of available web-services to provide a new composed web-service intended to satisfy some users requirements for which a single web service is not (good) enough. In this article, the formulation of the automatic web-services composition is proposed as several set-cover problems and an approxima...

Semantic Constraint and QoS-Aware Large-Scale Web Service Composition

Service-oriented architecture facilitates the running time of interactions by using business integration on the networks. Currently, web services are considered as the best option to provide Internet services. Due to an increasing number of Web users and the complexity of users’ queries, simple and atomic services are not able to meet the needs of users; and to provide complex services, it requ...

A Cluster Based QoS-Aware Service Discovery Architecture Using Swarm Intelligence

The existing mobile service discovery approaches do not completely address the issues of service selection and the robustness faced to mobility. The infrastructure of mobile service must be QoS-aware plus context-aware (i.e.) aware of the user’s required-QoS and the QoS offered by the other networks in user’s context. In this paper, we propose a cluster based QoS-aware service discovery archite...
